We have a massive amount of Edge Pro products so we figured it would be good to have a whole section on how to use the machine and what to use on it.

Just placed a purchase to Mark to get a bunch of new stones for my Edge Pro (Shapton Pros, etc.).
I noticed one can also purchase metal blanks for adding new stones that are unmounted.
Do people ever cut their own stones from larger freehand stones or is this a highly specialized job? I have several extra full size 1k (and less) stones collecting dust and a water-cooled tile saw that can cut through hard ceramic tile.... so was curious.
Is it possible to cut some of the softer stones on a water-cooled tile saw to glue to Edge Pro blanks, or is this an insane idea? Would this work for some stones (like lower grit) or is this a non-starter?
Curious what the metal blanks are for other than leather stropping material, etc.???

Yes you can do this Chester. I just depends on how good your saw blades are as to how well it will work.
Try it out and let us know how it works out. If you have some old stones you don't care about they would make good ones to experiment with.
The metal blanks are for mounting stones, strops or tapes onto the plates for use on the edge pro. This machine appeals to the do it yourself crowd.
