My PM box is constantly overflowing, so if you are having trouble contacting me, please email me at ksskss@earthlink.net .

I can also be reached at 209 612 2790 or on skype at k_schwartz .

I can also be reached on facebook as Ken Schwartz or Precise Sharpening .

https://www.facebook.com/ken.schwartz.984

I stay up late and live in California. Call anytime :)

More than happy to talk about sharpening related topics (primarily) from beginning level to advanced, so don't be shy. It can be on a specific item or just sharpening in general. I tend to talk a lot so get comfortable for a nice chat. It doesn't have to be purchase related either.

Regards,
Ken

Do you teach sharpening? I see you live in CA...you are not close but not too far. I'd really like to learn how to repair and sharpen my personal knives.

Quick question: is felt better suited to higher grits or lower grits? I am referring the CKTG 3x11 on magnetic backing

I'm putting together a stropping progression for my razors using CBN and a combination of felt, nano on glass and leather. I was thinking of using an emulsion for the leather and was thinking of using some felt in lieu of nano to save $$$. I have all three and just need to determine which mix is best and most economical.

Most likely a 4 to 6 strop progression.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance

Donald

I consider nanocloth and Kangaroo leather the finest products, interfering least with the CBN or diamond slurries and emulsions so I would use the felt on your coarsest CBN products if you have to for cost reasons. Also felt, especially if it gets wet swells the felt resulting in an uneven surface.

Thanks for the follow up. Can't tell you how much I like your CBN and diamond products; they really give you an edge (pun intended) over stones and strops.
