Shun sets the price on their knives so we don't have control over pricing. I don't think they're offering any additional sales this year.
Also I would encourage you to collect different knives because it's way more fun to try a variety of different steels and makers and you end up learning more about good knives in the process.
For instance, this Kanehiro is a unique and very cool knife. It's hand made in a small workshop by a very good blacksmith and it's reasonably priced. The steel is Ginsan which is harder and better performing than VG10 which is what Shun uses on the Premier line. Give it a try and I'll bet you will love it:http://www.chefknivestogo.com/kagisa16.html
If you don't, you can send it back to me and I'll swap you for a Shun.
