That's a bit like asking for a good soup recipe. Depends on what you want in it -- beef, pork, chicken, or veggie? With beans or without (this is an area of huge controversy in the southwest of the U.S.)? Green or red? Texas, New Mexico, or Mexican? Etc., etc., etc.

Google chili recipe and you'll find several good ones.

Ah...

I have one recipe my mother used to make with beef and red peppers, just wanting to know if anybody had a favorite. Seems like it's a HUGE pitfall :D

I'll search around a bit.

Recipe wise, the subject is so large I almost don't know where to begin, but I will say that using a beer in the recipe is absolutely imperative.

my aunty from the south would make her chili with peaches black kidney and pintos and a whole lot of beef in there with all kinds of spices but sure did taste good
