Amazingly I didn't set it on fire !!!!!!

First found out it's low flash point then paid attention........homework first is a gooood thing.

You might also want to consider Mahogany. Softer than Walnut and just as beautiful.

I'm more of a cherry man, I'd go that direction, but that's me. It will age better also.
And if you get Walnut, take better care of it than Mark! :mrgreen:

The cherry wood is my favorite. Tough choice though.

Yeah I'm leaning towards the cherry. It was the one I was originally going with.

So let me ask this... I know the cherry gets deeper/darker with age and oiling, but how long are we talking before there's a noticeable change?

The cherry will darken with time and how much sunlight it gets. Not necessarily direct sunlight. Hard to say time wise what will happen. I would say months and years.
