Mark,

After watching your excellent series of videos on knife sharpening I've decided to dive into sharpening my own knives. Here is what I have in my basket on your web site. Am I missing anything?

Shapton Glass stone 1000 grit
Sanyo 6K Waterstone
Universal Stone Holder
DMT Extra Extra coarse for flattening stones
3 x 8 Balsa Strop

I was going to order the Boron Carbide paste 1 micron for the strop but you are currently out of stock.

Gary

Hi Gary,

You can skip the balsa strop for now. It won't do you any good unless you load it with paste or spray. Otherwise you're all set.

Keith has a hard time keeping up with our demand for sprays and pastes so we're frequently out of stock with them. We'll be getting more in the future but I'm never sure exactly when.

Consider the Nubatama Bamboo 5k instead of the Sanyo 6k. For the strop, use a 1 micron CBN. You'll be quite pleased with this.
