 Post subject: best blacksmiths?

just wanted to know your opinions on who you regard as the best japanese blacksmiths?

for me i'd say fujiwara teruyasu, takeda, murata. haven't used other popular knive so haven't mentioned them.

There are so many of them it's hard to compare them all. In general if they're making a living by forging swords they're bad ass. Carter thinks Shiraki is the best guy he's seen and judging by the knives we get from him I would tend to agree that he's in the top tier. That said, he doesn't do the whole process. Sharpening, handle making and engraving are not his thing.
