I would like to know too. I always enjoyed his posts. I learned a lot from him too.

Anyone know?

Could anyone inform me about its distal taper, or lack of? Would be decisive to me where a thicker blade is concerned. Would like to know aswel if it has the deadly flat section towards the half of the edge we know of the traditional French profile, that some love and rock-choppers tend to ... dislike.

I would be very happy with both a spine and a profile photo, in the same configuration but with a 90 degree difference. So you may see whether the spine gets thinner before dropping towards the tip.

I'll try to get one up one the sun comes up. My house is too dark otherwise.

Having used this knife all weekend on a busy weekend out of the blue I am happy with it. My laser has sit untouched and freshly sharpened which hasn't happened in the year plus that I've owned it.

This knife is scary. :) The taper along the spine is decent and gradual. It tore apart everything I have thrown at it since taking it though a 1k and 4k Shapton progression. I did not strop it or hone it on a ceramic rod for the past couple of days and it just chugging along. Workhorse to the max.

I need to do something about the g10 scales...

Thanks a lot for the photos, Panko! Seems indeed to have a good distal taper as needed with such a beast to make it usable for general tasks.
