The tip was broken when I got the au ritz so it is slightly different than factory. It had some waves in the blade that needed a little pounding too.

The Richmond is getting used for whatever I want it for. Lately it has been my prep knife and I can use it at one station at work. If I'm at the other side of the station I use an 8" 2Lion Sab.

The Richmond I could see being a beater but I don't have anything I need to be hard on at work. We only have small lobster tails and scissors work on those. No bones to go through. Just vegetables and beef primals.

I'm thinking of smoothing out the grind marks so the patina can come out a better but it would reset the patina that is developing... It would also look nice with some wood shoes.

Too much free time, not enough beer... It is wierd only working 50 hours this week. Anyways. Tried taking the vertical grind lines out of the blade, only semi succeeded. Sharpened it up on some Shaptons up to 4k and didn't like it being so shiny so I grabbed some mustard and did a mustard patina.

How does she look? I'm in love with this knife...

Looks good with the mustard patina, looks like an older blade...and the block of blue burl is nice, too :)

This is my first time with 52100 and I'm liking it.

The burl is getting saved for something... not sure what. I saw it posted and had to have it. :)

A classic profile, good quality steel, and under a C-Note.
What more could you ask for?

For all of those "future projects"

Been there done that. "I'll totally need this sometime in the near future, but it's too cool to pass on so I'll buy it now"

Yeah, if I need to order 1 block, I usually end up getting 5-7 blocks total.

I really like that mustard patina
I have a few old carbons laying around, I also have mustard, and plenty of bubble wrap!

I daubbed it on with my finger for this one. I haven't always had the best of luck with bubble wrap. I wanted to roast a lot of chicken today and let a natural patina form from cutting that but I'm impatient sometimes. :)

I"ll be writing up a proper review sometime in the near future and posting it across the internet. :)
