Atoma plates break-in?

Do the Atoma diamond plates go through a break-in period like the DMT plates?

Yes but not as extreme as the DMT stuff.

Thanks.

The last two DMT stones I bought I used water stones (as if I were lapping the water stones) to break in the DMT surface. This worked great IMO. I used light pressure and I could feel the difference between when I started and when I believed they were broken in because they stopped getting smoother. Since then they have performed great with consistency. Also using the water stone I know the entire surface is the same compared to just counting on a knife edge. I think that has been DMT's suggestion. Do you guys recommend using water stones as well? Are there any other ideas?

When I get a new diamond plate I do a quick flattening of all or some of my stones and call it good.
