I wish I had more time for the knife hobby! I love projects like these that reap such a reward. That wood is beautiful. It is amazing what the handle does to the overall appearance of a knife.

Thanks! I curved the front of the handle a bit more and brought it back from the edge a tad. The Sycamore has some nice contrast to the layers in it; some are really dark brown, others are very pale brown, but it's hard to get a good pic of it sometimes.

Oh yeah, the handles are just riveted on! No chisel needed! The tang was much cleaner than on other Western style knives that I have rehandled and the tang was polished a bit farther back than where the original handle scale ended, so I could make my handle slightly shorter.
Next one may be getting some blue Box Elder burl

Sweet - very unique grain.

Any interest in doing a couple handle jobs for me?

Sycamore's one of my favorites. I want to rehandle my petty in it......
Gorgeous, thanks for showing us that, great drool factor.......

This was my first time using the Sycamore, I'm glad I have a big block and the rest of this piece left, I should have another 2 or 3 handles left with what I have left over! I was hoping that the contrast would still show after polishing!
Mark, shoot me a PM with what you are looking for!
