Artifex in M390?

Wed May 16, 2012 3:58 pm

I'm seriously considering doing the Artifex in M390. I love the idea of doing a cheap "super steel" knife that would make a great line knife and keep it under $100. Thoughts?

Depending how this M390 goes for the Ultimatums, if it's as good as it's supposed to be... I think sticking to AEB-L, M390, and 52100 for all Richmond knives would be pretty groovy :D :D M390 Artifex for under 100 bucks!? Whoa.. If you can pull it off, why the heck not? I wonder just how thin this steel will get. Oh the agony of waiting!! I mean, on paper, this stuff is supposed to beat ZDP..... we shall see!

I'm with Shaun. If the Ultimatums turn out good, it should be a GREAT buy.

Another option would be to use Carpenter's CTS-XHP steel. American made steel for your American made knives.

Heck yeah! I'd be down for an Artifex in M390 if it works well in the Ultimatum.

Yep, but the Artifex should have the same grind/profile as the Ultimatum - just 210mm version and different handle.

I'll take 2.
