I found your site while looking for a Japanese style Kitchen knife. I was wondering if you would be able to recommend the Murata as I have not been able to find much information out there on his line of knives.
I am looking for something in the 210mm to 240mm size range and around the same price as well. Any advice would be appreciated.

We just started importing these knives a few months ago and they've not taken off yet. We sell them reasonably well so far but that will change and grow as more people use them.
Murata is a very good blade smith. He has an excellent reputation in Japan. The ones we carry are his more commercial kuruouchi knives that he sells the best and they use excellent steel with good heat treatment and good blade grinds. If you like a kurouchi finish I recommend them very much. I prefer the wa handled ones over the western ones because they're lighter and I like these handles he's using.
