I just bought a blue steel #1 yanagi and I didn't see any videos on sharpening this style of knife. I'm also in the market for stones and was wondering if you had any recommendations. I was looking at the shapton glass stones but I'm worried about scratching the knife and wondering if a more traditional japanese whetstone would be the way to go?

Check out Japanese Knife Imports you tube channel, lots of videos on sharpening single bevel knives. Jon trains in Japan yearly (I think), has an extensive understanding and is a good teacher.

Thank you, I also found some yanagi videos on the Korin website that were very helpful.
