Odd, but I had the same concern about flex in knife that gave birth to the Richmond Laser, the Devin Thomas AEB-L gyuto. I haven't had any problems with flex on the Richmond Laser. I generally prefer a thicker knife. Hence my recommendation of the Mizunos.
If you like the feel of a little heft, try the Richmond Addict in carbon steel, or, heavier still, the Richmond Ultimatum. I guarantee no flexing of any significance in the Ultimatum.

I prefer the slight flex in the laser I have all the cpm154's including the addict 1 which I use more than anything I also have a micro thin haslinger guyto which I also love. I was just trying to answer the gentlemans question is to if it had any flex and it does have a little flex. Not a lot but a little .

The ultimatium and the addict are super choices I like a little heft also depending on what I am cutting, the ultimatium is a killer knife gets sharp as hades as does the addict 2. So basically we are all rite in this instance I just don't want to confuse the gentleman and overwhelm him with too much at one time but anything branded Richmond is a winner hands down. Peace to all, jmbullman
