It's been a productive few weeks, and I'm finally getting to have some time at a computer and a camera to post some finished stuff.
First up is a sujihiki I'm more or less finished with.
Handle is Redwood Burl and African Blackwood. Steel is 1080+....a carbon steel. Still need to sharpen it, add my etch, and attach the handle (actually still trying to decide between two handles)
Next is a paring knife I finished a few weeks ago. Handle is Amboyna Burl. Steel is AEB-L.
Still needs sharpening and my etch.
Next is one of those new, old stock Hiromoto White steel gyuto's that came up from JCK a while back. Had a western handle that wasn't done really well. So the existing western handle was removed and the tang shaped down to fit within a sweet Stefan Keller handle. I believe the handle is Kukui Nut and blonde buffalo horn ferrule/buttcap with a few spacers. Now it's one sweet knife.
