Jeff, how much did the steer weigh? After you get through with butchering how much meat does it yield? Bill B

This steer was around 1700-1800lb. We get around a 45% yield, give or take, from the steer. We'll get about 800+lbs of meat.

Everyone who I've spoken to about this says it's the very best meat they've ever eaten. Much much better than anything you can get store bought.
