I realized I forgot to add the rest of the pics of Mel's Suke! His Suisin Inox Honyaki also guest stars since that is what I based the handle off of! IIRC, I did some trimming down of the handle after these pics so it matched better lengthwise.

Out of curiosity, did you etch then polish the Suk as well?

I didn't do anything to the Suke blade except have the tang welded a bit longer and lean up and round the machi area a bit. That was how the blade came to me; very high polish!

OK, I've been waiting for these -- really stunning and I love the Suisan handles to pattern after!

I'm so anxious for you to do a few knives for me but I'm still probably a few months out before the funds will be cleared by the boss, I mean wife! I love that suji you did for me and my mother wigged off that ITK bread knife you did that I gave her.

Yeah, my handle has a bit more taper to it and more rounding at the front and back, but it's pretty close in the other dimensions!

Is it just me or are the ferrules on these longer than usual? The proportions on both look different than I am used to, but that's a great looking handle all the same.

The suisin inox honyaki handle does have a longer ferrule than most other knives.
