Re: 2K stones - German vs Japanese steel

I have the Shapton Pro 2K for the EP and it is sweet. Works fast with what I consider to be ideal feel. I go from there to either the 5K or 3u diamond tape, depending upon what steel I'm working with.

Cheers,

Rick

I agree that for this application the 2k Bamboo is too expensive and the 2k ume is a brick but more expensive as well.

So I've been working for almost a year on getting the 2k Speckled Ume added to the Nubatama line for just this reason.

I have a couple of them so far and Mark and I will be getting more in later when the next boat comes in.

I'm pretty certain it will be a big hit :)

Here's a picture of the stone.

Ken, any idea on the price point? Also, does "next boat" translate to "two minutes"? :-)

Price point should be just a slight bit more than the 1k Speckled Ume Medium stone, so considerably less than the other Nubatama 2k stones.

I have a couple of them, but the boat should be coming along in a while :) Never sure just when.

Sounds intriguing, Ken. Have you had a chance to do one of your usual thorough youtube videos on the stone as yet?
