We have a massive amount of Edge Pro products so we figured it would be good to have a whole section on how to use the machine and what to use on it.

1/2" stones

Can I use a 1/2" stone for regular knifes? I thought about getting a 1/2" high grit stone to finish my knives is that ok.I kind of figured I could work backwards picking up the half inch stones for a recurve blade. And maybe later I could pick up the full sized one

1/2" width would work the same way as any other, you just have to be careful to not rock the blade back and forth when sharpening and keep it flat on the stone.

That being said, I personally don't think I would when freehand sharpening... I would go ahead and get a full sized stone. But yes, a 1/2" stone would still work for a "normal" knife.

I assume on the edge pro it will make no difference

LOL! I didn't even notice this was in the Edge Pro section...

Ignore the stupid Munky... 1/2" should be fine in your case. ;) Keeping the stone flat on the knife with the Edge Pro should be much easier than keeping the blade flat when hand sharpening.

Sorry 'bout that... lol

Are these the best option for sharpening a bird's beak paring knife?
